When I recently installed the side skirt extensions I had to drill screws underneath the lower plastic side sills. I hope I didn't go up into the metal and cause a breach where rust can start. I drilled very shallow and used short screws. When I looked under the car and inside the plastic side sills there is some space but couldn't see how much.

Has anyone taken off the plastic side sills to see how much space is in there??
