Default 07 is250 Head Unit Replacement

Hi guys, I just recently bought a '07 is250.

It didn't come with bluetooth or nav and the head unit looks ancient. I want to replace it and I'm wondering if the head unit from the 2012 is250 would fit in my car.

I cannot answer the question regarding the 2012 radio, but if you want to go off the market, you have 2 main options.
This scooch kit:

Or the beat sonic kit:

I currently have the beat sonic kit and it's working flawlessly.

I have a manual so the sonic kit won't fit in my car. Also, the Scosche kit doesn't come with bluetooth

The kit is just for you to install an "off the market" head unit, and you can get one with BlueTooth.

im really interested to find out about installing a later model factory IS250 Nav in my 2007 IS250. I do believe they redesigned the entertainment center in Lexus models around the 2012 model year you mentioned.
Have you tried retrofitting a 2012 model to fit your 2007 yet?

No, i haven't. Apparently those units aren't compatible with 06-08 models.

In the 2009 and up, externally, Lexus change the fitment of the air vents on top of the head unit.

I was curious on this. While newer models incorporate USB, modern headunits add in so much more nowadays, so upgrading to a 'newer' IS radio with the new features might be a deadend choice.

Curious to note those kits are compatible with the IS 2006-2015, so does that mean the wiring for the stock headunit 2006-2015 is the same?

I've been thinking of getting the sonic one, but it's a pretty penny.
