2009 lexus is 250
Didn't start it for one day then next day went to start it it started having rough idle so shut it back off then back on then it started normal. Then today I go for start it to go to work then rough idle came back and this time black smoke appeared now car won't start back up again. I already had the motor replaced due to carbon build up about 6yrs ago. Now this what you lexus members thing is the problem like to find out first before I call my local lexus and tell them the situation thank. Really appreciate it!!

Well it's some sort of over fueling problem. If it's not a consistent problem it becomes harder to diagnose. Sticking injector is possible, bad spark plug maybe. Have you tried to read any codes from it yet? That's the best place to start is with an OBD2 reader.

Easy check would be to clean the MAF sensor. Make sure you use maf sensor cleaner that you can p/u at auto parts store. Kind of rare that this would all of a sudden happen but Ive seen weirder things.

Before you take it to lexus try unplugging the fuel pressure sensor my 07 had this issue and it wont throw a code because the sensor shorts out the ecu before its able to throw a code

I had a ford expedition that I knew was missing in a cylinder and my code reader would not pick it up either because there was now cel. I HAD to take it to ford so they could put it on their expensive machines and tell me it had a misfire in the #6 cylinder. I told them to button it up and I would fix it. I still payed the $100 diagnostic fee but had no other choice.

Question clublexus members would it be my push start button that's going bad that's what a friend of mine says but when I
Push in the button it turns amber then when I hit the brakes it turns green then push it again won't crank is it a bad starter or is it the push button switch? Or could it be something else because when I let the car sit for hours then try start it it starts then dies 2sec then won't crank again need help asap as this is my other half vehicle to take the daughter to school would like to get more info to check my self first then if nothing helps then straight to lexus it goes

im telling you its most likely your fuel pressure sensor mine did the exact same thing and its a common issue with the is models the pig tail is on the driver side of the car back side of the motor if you unplug it and try and start the car it may take a time or two for it to start but it will and run in limp mode

Its kinda hard to explain where its at and unless you take a couple things off its a rather tight fit to get your arm back there
