Default Pando 39C spray equivalent?

Getting everything ordered to replace my fuel pressure sensor, and it seems that for the ELF recall (or at least in the NHTSA guide), they used Pando 39C on the sensor threads. My understanding is that this is some sort of adhesive spray, and is relatively expensive ($100 a can). Does anyone got an idea if this is absolutely necessary to be put on the threads, or is there some equivalent out there? It's a bit ridiculous considering the price of it is about twice as much as I paid for the new sensor and gasket. I doubt McGrath Lexus in Chicago would be willing to lend me a can either.

When I replaced mine I didn't use anything on the threads of the sensor and have had zero issues since the install and that was about a year ago

Did you torque it to spec?

Man this is an old thread but yes I did torque to spec. I haven't owned the car in a long time but last I knew it was still running strong.
