Default Ran IS350 with low oil

I recently purchased a 2009 Lexus is250 4 months ago and did a oil change at the time. I forgot to tighten the oil filter casing and lost almost all the oil. I ignored the computer message about low oil pressure. i ran car for 15 miles .

Car runs fine after filling up with oil. i recently did a second oil change and noticed tiny metal flakes in my drain bucket. I'm worried if in the long run something might break or engine will blow up. Now that it is winter the car smokes from exhaust even after the engine has warmed up.
can someone tell me their is350 smokes from exhaust after the engine has warmed up.

There is no smoke out of my exhaust. There is just vapor from condensation.

There is no amount of driving with no oil that is ok. You are really lucky it didn't seize. But it looks like you still caused significant damage. All you can do now is drive it until you need a new engine. It is probably smoking because you destroyed the Piston Rings.

Used Engine and Install is probably going to run you 3-4k. That was one expensive oil change......

Well the vapor doesn't ago away like my other car i use to drive. i don't see the vapor on a hot day. im just worried that it might be a head gasket issue.

i regret messing up my new car up . I hope i can get pass 200k im at 101K.

Damn that sucks dude, never ignore any messages ur car throws at u! U did everything wrong in this scenario and looks like ur going to pay for it. There is definitely some kind of damage done because of the metal pieces found in the oil. Lesson learned... Hopefully.

You sir have a damaged motor that is now a ticking time bomb. The absence of oil caused the metal parts to touch each other with no oil lubricating either surface. What you're seeing is your crank bearings (rods or mains...who knows) on their way out. You could slowly eat up those bearings and slowly get a tractor-like sounding motor OR it could seize up on you at any time causing a possible catastrophic event.

Start looking for a good, used motor to replace the damaged one from a local parts yard or online. My local yard of choice is LKQ. They're nationwide, but there are plenty others.

Do you have an IS250 or IS350? You mentioned both in this thread.

You never know, your car may still run just fine.
I'd run synthetic from now on..and just watch that smoke issue.

Depends how much oil did you put in after. Running low oil is not a big deal usually, running very little to no oil almost always results in catastrophic failures. In my S2000 low oil light was called light of death

Not sure why you disregarded the low oil pressure light and ran the car for another 15 miles like that. Someone who really hates their car would do that....It takes 1 min and $10-20 bucks to add oil
