If it is just for cosmetics than I guess it looks ok. Otherwise I doubt it adds any performance to the IS over the cold air intake that comes stock with the car.

There really isn't much that can be done for the IS250. The IS350 is limited also. You could try a water injection system that might add about 5 % HP and clean your engine at the same time.

It's widely accepted that utilizing the stock airbox and just replacing the intake tube is the best option for intakes.
I'd look at the JoeZ or F sport intake tube and modify your stock lower airbox.

Will give you the same sound / performance gain (If any).

I have the Spectre CAI on my IS350 it works fine and looks cool. Maybe little better throttle response, and sounds good when I hit the throttle hard.
