Lights just flicker on and off and i have no ac control. Luckily, my ac was on before it stopped lighting up. On long drives it will come back on briefly then turn off again. I can still control radio from my steering wheel but not directly from the dash when the light is out.

Anyone have an idea?

Sounds like you might want to look for a good, used replacement unit. Looks like the same power supply issue us with NAV screens have experienced, except you've got the base model unit. Example :
