Never heard of Monroe's being good. I had some Tokico Blues and they were nice with lowering springs. I am surprised there isn't anything like Bilstein short of F-Sports or Kyb AGX Shocks. The AGX were adjustable on the car and weren't that expensive. I would imagine it would be difficult to get ride height right on coilovers.

I know the IS comes with Tokicos stock, but not withe the Blues those are an upgraded strut
I like the springs and struts idea cause it's just a mild drop and the combo can last for many years....plus its relatively comfortable, although not like stock .

It is like anything else, there are brands that you haven't heard great things about. Would you buy Autolight plugs for your car, or Denso. Would you buy Monroe shocks, or Bilstein. I have never seen a Monroe equipped TRD vehicle. Does Monroe make the F-Sport Shocks? I thought it was Bilstein. A friend of mine got KYBs for his van and he liked them. Another friend got the KYB AGX and they were nice. But sure Monroe's for everyone. I am disappointed the Bilstein doesn't have shocks other than the F-Sports for the IS. I have the HDs on my BMW. I think they are almost too harsh for bad roads. BMW is great at making a combination of ride and handling. I don't think the regular Bilsteins were available when I bought. I got them around 100k, I felt that the factory ones were about done. Never needed another set and if I did, they would pay for them.

can get full set of the bilstein F Sport shocks for $730 shipped on ebay. They were a huge upgrade, ride quality was so much better when I changed the 06 shocks out

Are you using factory spring or lower? i'm keeping it stock for my daily commute. Also, why is front part# different between left and right?
