Default Don't buy Ebay valve stem caps

Or not the metal one at least.

A while ago I bought some red metal valve stem caps thinking they'd look good with the caliper(which is also red) but after rain and moisture, the cap is now rusted with the valve stem. I'm afraid to break them loose with brute force(a pair of pliers) since our vale stems comes with TPMS. I am going to try to heat it and see if that does anything. Anyone got a better idea?

Try soaking the threads with PB Blaster and letting it sit for a few minutes then trying to turn it with some pliers. Otherwise, a very fine hacksaw can probably get it off, or a visit to your local tire shop will get them off.

No, not the reason. The problem relates to dissimilar metals. Steel valve caps on the aluminum TPMS valve stem.. See this thread:

And my post No. 8

You may be out of luck. Had this happen to me years ago. Bought stainless steel caps and they wouldn't come off when I went to fill up my tires. I used a little force with pliers and snapped the sensor and all the air came out. Decided to soak the others in PB Blaster and WD-40. Tried again and snapped another stem. Lastly, tried using a dremel to cut the cap in half but the threads were corroded to the stem. For the last one, I decided just to snap it off. Ended up buying 4 new OEM sensors. Lesson learned, only buy aluminum or plastic caps if you have sensors.

This reminds me, I should check mine and make sure they aren't stuck.
