Default Help: Steering Wheel Control w/ BeatSonic

Hey all,

I'm trying to get my ducks in a row before installing my audio and I'm at an stand still with this issue.

I'm installing a Pioneer AppRadio 4 using the new BeatSonic MVX 140L 2-DIN install kit along with an Axxess ASWC-1. My problem is that the head unit doesn't have 3 steering wheel control leads as shown in the BeatSonic manual.

BeatSonic has an installation video in which they mention that all leads on the ASWC-1 will be connected to the MVX harness, whereas the manual says to connect them all to the new head unit. Axxess tells me to tap them into the factory harness. I'll be calling in the morning for clarification.

Does anyone have any experience installing a 2-DIN kit using the described method? Has anyone successfully installed an ASWC-1 in their 2IS for any reason? If so any info would be appreciated.

Help me get this show on the road!

UPDATE: It looks like there's a 3.5mm remote control input on the Pioneer unit which should interface with the ASWC-1. I'll still be calling BeatSonic to clear up what I should do with the control module to get everything to work. Still very open to info from anyone who can provide, especially those with a similar setup.

How many people have installed the BeatSonic kit so far anyway? I'm hard pressed to find any.

For anyone interested in this install in the future, the correct wiring is as follows:

ASWC-1 Black > Ground
ASWC-1 Red > Power Accessory
ASWC-1 Green + Orange > BeatSonic SW1 (White)
ASWC-1 Black + Green > BeatSonic SW2 (Green)
BeatSonic SWG (Black) > Ground

So no connections are made to the Pioneer head unit all the connections are to the MVX and the ASWC?

Thank you

The MVX maintains your stock fade options by running through the top screen, try checking if you have the fader all the way front

I had to run through a couple of cycles before mine got going, make sure to read the ASWC manual. I can't quite remember what did it but if I'm not mistaken, it recognizes the car and auto maps the buttons. FYI, once you get it running every once in a while a button or two will stop working for a few minutes. I chalk it up to the flimsy SWC unit and my spirited driving habits.

I have the
Pioneer AVH-4100NEX Pioneer AVH-4100NEX
, I was just watching the install video and he says green/yellow not green/orange, but instructions also say green/orange, I am confused now, on your Pioneer head unit did you connect the parking brake wire for the DVD?

Also, did you connect the red with silver spots lead coming from the adapter it looks like its not connected to anything?

Thanks

I remember that part of the video confusing me as well, I ended up calling them which is where I got my info.

I purchased a parking brake bypass specific to my head unit and used that instead of the parking brake.

Its an odd angle but if you look super close the red with silver spots merges with another and connects to the red wire from the pioneer unit.

Hope that helps!
