Default What do i need to know when buying this '09 IS250?

Hello,
I am interested buying this 2009 is250 with 100800 miles on it. Since the vehicle is about 7 years old with over 100,000 miles. What are the troubling things that I need to pay attention to ?. The car was asking $12,000 dollars. Is it a fair prices ?. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Wow $12k?! That's asking too much... that's the price up here in Canada in $CAD and for examples with around 100,000 km. Generally just watch out for carbon build up symptoms. Else, just make sure you get a look at the maintenance history etc like you would with any other car. Also make sure that the transmission oil has been changed regularly. There have been people in the forums having failed transmissions from trusting the Lexus "lifetime" transmission oil.

Make sure Transmission shifts smooth and no coolant leaks.

Thank you very much for all of the advice. The owner sold the car for $11,500 to somebody on craigslist. Sorry for the late respond.

Was just about to say for 12k you could get a 350 with the same mileage. (If you are still looking for a car I strongly suggest it). The extra 100hp is worth every penny and the fuel economy difference isn't too much different. Pretty much with every used car (especially with high miles) just check maintenance records, test drive it, and make sure fluids were changed regularly.

I think the owner did you a favor. A CLEAN IS350 could be had at that price. Hell, there's a local (to me) CLEAN title IS350 for $7k! Oh, and here it is : http://greenville.craigslist.org/cto/5796372767.html
