3IS F-Sport Steering Wheel on 2IS?
#16
In what way would it be difficult? You push a button on the steering wheel, and then program it for the function you want it to do. The SWC module does not care what buttons are on the wheel, or what their functions were. You can program the volume button to skip songs if you really wanted to.

Yours won't work for me, it has red stitching. Going to see if I can find a car at a wrecker and strip what I need out of it.
But just trying to figure out what I need exactly. A wiring diagram would be solid right about now. Far as I can tell from pics, the steering wheel button harness plugs into the clockspring on the 2014. So a clockspring will be needed, no idea if it is interchangeable with the 2006? Then it's just a matter of having the relay and a switch for the heated wheel, rest should be fairly straight forward.

Don't know if anybody cares? But from what I can tell, the 3is airbag will plug right into the 2is clockspring. So you can easily turn around and sell your stock airbag for roughly the same money you're going to pay for the 3is one.
Now I just need to see how hard it is to tap power out of the steering wheel harness for the wheel heater. Might be able to wire a relay in right behind the wheel cover, and then use one of the steering wheel buttons as the on/off switch for the heater. then there is no need to tap anything downstream of the steering wheel.

I'll definitely do a DIY if I get this done. The steering wheel buttons are the least of my worries. I'm doing aftermarket stereo, so they will just get programmed with the SWC module. The only hurdle so far is getting the heat to work. If you don't care about heat, and have aftermarket headunit, then this is practically a bolt on mod.
