Default Aftermarket Steering Wheel - functions?

Hey everyone,

I did a search but came up with nothing. I was wondering if anyone has installed an aftermarket steering wheel (sparco, mom, etc) and if you did, did you find a way to retain the "display" feature so you can cycle through the center screen on the instrument cluster? Any information would be helpful! Either I'll have to get another OEM wheel and have it modified or if someone can help me I'm eyeing a sparco wheel. Keep in mind this is for a car that will now be spending 90% of it's time on the track but still being driven on the the street (to and from track). Thank you!

Haha nice! Thank you for the feedback. Was just wondering if anyone had retrofitted the "display" button to a wheel or mounted it somewhere else to still use that screen.

Been thinking of an aftermarket carbon fiber racing wheel myself. Ive never taken the steering wheel off, so not sure how difficult it would be to add a button to act as the display button, but i totally forgot about wanting to keep that one myself :/ Maybe someone has a pinout diagram of the steering wheel wiring and this would be a lot easier?

Yeah I'd really like to run a Sparco or Momo wheel since the car will be mainly at the track from now on, but would still be nice to use the computer functions to see how the car is running on the way to the track haha. I figured since these cars have been out for 10 years someone should have done this by now, but I guess there is still more to play with on this chassis!

Hey guys ive been working on something like this for a while. Im trying to use an aftermarket steering wheel and keep the use of the paddles. As for the display button i think it can be placed on the bottom of the steering column. I guess will see when I get there. BTW the CCS-R ISF had a steering wheel adapter to keep the use of the paddles but apparently that part is impossible to find.

That's epic! Mind keeping us updated on how it goes or linking the thread when you've done it? I have an MT so paddle adapters aren't really a think for me but I wouldn't be surprised if you could get one of the CF brackets made for the wheel (momo and sparco) have the back plates for buttons and paddles, I'm sure they would work with the OEM paddles with some light modification for mounting.
