Default Need help a.s.a.p - Buying IS250 in two days

Hi all! This is my first thread to this forum so please be patient. I'm looked up every info what i could about the IS250. Sooo:
  • Here is the lady: http://www.hasznaltauto.hu/auto/lexu...omata-10469255
  • The car owner is a 60 years old woman, she is family friend. Did all the maintenance and all the TSB-s as far as I know, the car was on a maintenance 4000 km ago.
  • I need you guys to say something about the engine noise what I'm hearing (engine was warm running for about 15 min before):

Is this "rattling" sound is normal VVTi sound? Or its the sound of something expensive coming ? I really want this car, and I am able to spend some money and take care of this beauty, but i don't really want an expensive engine repair in my first 5000 miles.

After test drove:
  1. Car handles smoothly not any noise from the inside or outside.
  2. Tranny shifts nice, and quite fast, in normal and sport mode also. Shifts backwards without any problem.
  3. Engine starts smoothly runs smoothly, stable idle RPM.
  4. Rev goes up to 6500 RPM easily, not any noise under 100% throttle.
A big thank you for your help!

Thomas a wannabe Lexus Owner

I think the sound is just the injectors.

Thank you very much for you help!

Carbon build up, Windshield moldings was done, and a lot of other things too. I got 30 pages of Service History today, impressive really. They also changed the transmission oil 2 times, and they used 5W30 Oil for the engine.

The Carbon build up repair is just a temporary fix and its need to be done every 30-50k miles right?

Was it really the transmission oil that was changed 2 times? Lexus has "lifetime" transmission oil.

The carbon buildup issue suppose to be somewhat permanent, but some people get it again. From what I hear, driving the car harder helps prevent it.

Do not do not buy IS250 they have engine build up issue. Get IS350 or ISF instead.

Carbon issue isn't a problem if you drive somewhat aggressively. Keep the RPMs up every once in a while

Im at 120,000 miles, with no issues. *knock on wood*. This car has been flawless
