Default After Battery died nothing but tranny issues

well as the title says my battery died on me so I had it replaced, then noticed the tranny wouldn't shift correctly or down shift. I did the shift lock and it doesn't seem to work. starts off slow in gears takes awhile to shift but does but doesn't go higher then 5th. All over a battery. any ides. 07 is250

Sounds like the ecu needs to relearn your driving habits. And your windows are going to be jacked up as well.

My 350 had been sitting in the garage for weeks with a dead battery. I replaced it last weekend and transmission shifting has been a bit harsh, but this is common as the ECU has to "re-learn" your driving habits as bbaugher47 stated. However, I never had any issue with the trans shifting to 6th gear.

I'm not sure if this is related to your issue, but the car is programmed to avoid 6th gear until the car has warmed up.

^^^^He's in Arizona - I doubt that's an issue, especially at this time of year!

I live in CA so it's pretty hot here too but the car also won't shift passed 5th until it reaches its running temperature. The fact that it's hot just helps it get there faster.

How long does the ECU take? I work 5 miles from work so I don't drive much just to work then home. I have been driving it but 1 day down and still the same issue.
