Default Potential ECU swap out for more gains?

So I have heard that the 2006 IS350 ECU is better than the other ECUs for the 2IS becuase it doesn't adapt to engines mods done to the car, so you can get more gains. Is there anways I could replace my 08 ECU with an 06 ECU?

I'm not sure I buy this. My '06 ECU, like most, was flashed with new code for the floor mat interference recall (a recall modifies the ECU to cut power when both the brake and gas are applied at the same time); I'd imagine that this would have installed the latest code.

No I doubt its true. But if it were that would be pretty cool to know Also I can't remember where exactly but I remember reading on this forum somewhere where there were people claiming the 06 to be the fastest. Im sure it was a joke but still, maybe they were onto something? Lol

It is! It's due to the weight reduction and reduced aerodynamic drag from not having the shark fin antenna

That, and the 1/2 gram weight savings from not having LEDs behind the trunk and gas cap release buttons.

It's actually the 07 models that were hitting 0-60 in the high 4s on certain automotive publications like Road and Track.

No dude it is. When I was at my mechanic, he was telling me about it. He originally had a 2008 IS350, but later got a 2006 IS350 and said 06 was way faster. He said Lexus also confirmed this too.

Ya 07 IS350 0-60 is 4.8 stock. It's the lightest one they made. However the 06 is better for modding.

Anything specifically that would contribute to that? As far as I know, all the 2IS 350 RWD's are listed as 3527 lbs throughout the years. I'm sure there's minuscule differences between the years, but nothing drastic I'd imagine.
