Default Is this normal for sport dead Pedal?

Hi all,

I recently purchased OEM Lexus Sport Lexus from ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/331859248753 for my IS350 2008 (Japanese import). After i put in my dead pedal i noticed its sitting abit higher than my original non-sport pedal (see photos below). I noticed the legs of the dead pedal on sport's one are abit longer than normal one (see photo of my out normal one). Now there is a small gap between the base and floor. Is this normal for sport pedal to be sitting abit higher? Or not the right one for me?

Thank you

You're dead pedal seems to be the correct part for your vehicle, but I just checked mine and yours is sitting higher than mine and is definitely closer to the parking brake pedal. It looks like the mount might be different.

Does it have anything to do with the steering wheel being on the right vs the left side? I would assume the dead pedal is always on the left regardless of where the steering wheel is, right?

A lot of times, LHD/RHD pedals aren't always swappable. The dead pedal on the RHD most likely is shorter in that position due to it's location (pretty close to the driveshaft/exhaust, so the legs were probably shortened). On LHD, the dead pedal has nothing in that general area so the longer legs would fit. Why would they do that when using the shorter one from RHD would of been fine for the LHD? Who knows.

... If you could shorten it without damaging it, you'd be good. I doubt the legs are swappable, but if they are, why not give it a shot?

^^^^Yep, after I gave my answer above, I went and ate breakfast. That very thought occurred to me. Glad someone brought it up

Thank you all for your reply.

My vehicle is RHD. RHD vehicle's dead pedal has got shorter legs than LHD one. I have bought the version suit for LHD. I may need to modify it to make it fit better. Does anyone know how should i cut it and re glue with super glue to the base?

Thanks

Thanks for all your help. All fit well now. I have chopped 3cm length off the base of the dead sports pedal and push it right in with superglue and adhesive gel coating. Its holding in place nicely now.
