Default What's up with my windshield??

Can someone please tell me what's up with my windshield? For a while I thought all these specs were tree sap but no matter if I go through the car wash (touchless) or even try using a razor I can't remove these specs. My windshield is covered in them and it bugs me that I can't remove them. I know for a fact some might be little cracks since they go in a bit but not all of them. Any ideas guys? I'm worried I have to replace my windshield now

I was going to say road tar but with white specks that not even a razor can get off I don't know... also like with road tar, -process of eliminating different cleaning methods - have you tried removing it after spraying it with some oil like wd40?

I have not tried it yet. Some one else also recommended I try hand sanitizer. But the way I see it a lot of the white looking specs (the bigger ones) are all rock chips
But I can't quiet figure out what the smaller ones are. They don't look like rock chips to me but then again not even a razor can do anything to remove it where as for actual tree sap it came off instantly..

Is this an OEM windshield or a replacement?

Sorry to say that you have deep scratches. A new windshield is about $200+. Some insurers allow you to replace them without a deductible. Specially if the damage is at the direct line of sight when driving.

I suggest you invest in a new windshield.

The "white specs" are just from over the years of getting hit by debris. Small divots or pits. I've got a ton of them; and when driving directly towards the sun (like during sunset), it makes it incredibly difficult to see out of.

^ yea it's just years of wear and tear. I have 80k miles on my 350 and when the light hits it perfectly there's a ton if them. I'm going to replace my windshield soon it does get pretty annoying
