Apple, iPhone 5SE, free with 2 year contract!

It's not in dash but Googlemaps is better than anything built-in.

I don't like any of the aftermarket in-dash systems as there are so may other things tied into the in-dash electronics.

But OEM isn't plug and play right?

As far as I know the only plug and play models for cars that did NOT come with OEM Navigation were the chinese versions. But those apparently aren't being sold anymore. They were a hot item a couple years ago.

Did you install it alongside the beat-sonic adapter?

Default Garmin 65LMT

The nav on my 06 IS350 is very outdated--so I attached a Garmin 65LMT which is far superior, has 3D maps, and traffic alerts.

Mounted it above the nav screen so I can still use the screen for climate, etc. Air vents blow around it. It looks fine to me considering all new MBZ, BMW, Audi use pop up nav screens that stick out the dashboard.

Looks great. I'm tempted to go this route, but wish there was a plug-and-play solution to have these head units sit higher up in the oem nav area. Wishful thinking.

I thought it would bother me more being low, but it's not bad at all. The manual guys probably wouldn't like it..

My 4200NEX is also installed with the beat-sonic harness. Works flawlessly. I currently have it installed with the factory non ML amp and the sound quality along with the volume has increased significant over the oem head unit. I will be installing a few amps and upgrading all the speakers, but progress is very slow.

Good to know . Pretty much sold on the beat-sonic solution. I'd look to add a 12" sub in the trunk only. I'm ok with everything else. The only missing piece is a head unit. The 4200NEX is at the top of my list, but with the recent news of SIRI [apple] being opened up for developers, it has me wondering if the next wave of units will be designed around this. Future is looking bright

Can't you update the maps in the GPS with a DVD?

On the factory unit? Only ones from model year 2009 and earlier are upgradable with a DVD; later model years are upgraded with a USB stick and laptop with special software (not Techstream) at the dealer. But the DVD or USB update only updates the map and point-of-interest database. Even with the latest DVD, the feature set of the GEN5 navigation in the '06-'09 ISx50 is very outdated, and pales in comparison to smartphone apps like Waze and Google Maps.
