Default Ultra Sonic Blue Mica vs Ultra Sonic Blue Mica 2.0

Hey guys, just wondering if any of you know the difference between the new 2.0 version of USB vs the original? Ive heard it's a 4 stage paint and stuff like that but what I'm really wondering is just how different from the original this new color is? Have any of you seen it In person and compared it to the USB from the ISF and F sports?

The reason I ask is because I wanna paint my car a completely different color before years end and I've been looking at all sorts of colors. But I feel like USB is just really really pretty and I love how it's color changes shades in different lighting. Plus it would still be unique considering my car is an 06 IS350 so it's impossible to have that blue on my car I'm still open to other colors though too, but for now what do you guys think on USB vs USB 2.0?

Ive seen USB 2.0 on an NX and think its the best color choice for it. Having said that, imagining a 2IS in that color, it would look nothing short of awesome! Go for it!

Not a huge fan of 2.0 I also saw it on the NX and I feel the opposite of Mike_1G0. The original USB is by far my favorite Lexus OEM color.

Thanks guys for the input. As it seems you guys are of opposing opinions lol. What exactly is the difference between the two colors? Is one a darker or lighter shade of blue? Does it behave differently under certain lighting conditions?

I agree that the original USB looks amazing and I had my heart set on it at first. However upon hearing about 2.0, I am now questioning which one to go with lol. I haven't seen USB 2.0 in person yet but if it's anything like the original then I'm sure it's beautiful. I've only seen it in pictures but a picture can be deceiving.

+1 for this.

The 2.0 looks darker or more "pasty" i think

The original looks super shiny and glossy

I see.. In that case it would sound like the original is better than. I'm a fan of glossy colors.

I'm assuming you're not too far from Lexus of Sac, go to their showroom that's where I saw the NX. You can just go check it out and make your own decision.

2.0 is much better imo. its a metallic finish vs ultrasonic blue which is not really the same. pics don't justify how good 2.0 looks. my dads GS-F is USB 2.0 and it looks hella good imho

I just watched a YouTube video of a GSF in USB 2.0 It looks Really good although the video I saw was taken inside a showroom which means it was all done in relatively low lighting. That being said I do think 2.0 looks a bit darker and a bit more classy than the original USB.

They're both really nice colors though... I wonder what the price difference would be to have my car resprayed 2.0 vs 1.0?

Just wondering if you had considered doing a wrap instead of a paint? if there are no major body or paint issued existing, you might be better off with a wrap in the long run because you can always go back to the stock color easily, and there are an endless color selections/finishes you can do with a wrap.
