Default Audio not working after heavy rain storm

Hi guys, a little background on me.

I have a 06 IS 350, so the car is pretty much meeting its 11th year. This is actually the second time that this has occurred and i was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.

After a really heavy rain storm, I noticed that my audio system will just crap out, I was driving during the rain storm, and the audio worked just fine. However when I start the car the next morning. the audio will not work. The first time this occurred, the audio started working a few days after. I assume it was because of whatever was shorting the audio (Which i assume is the rain) dried up and the audio functioned fine.

Is this a common problem? or anyone else here experiencing this?

This has happened to me as well - 2010 IS350 - however not after a heavy rainstorm

Its only happened twice and yesterday i started my car after stopping at the store and the audio was not working.. My Ipod is plugged in via USB and the volume was at 30 and i wasn't hearing anything.. Even the beeps that you hear when going from Climate - Audio - Map - Destination from the navigation unit are not audible.. incredibly weird.. however I hooked up my iPhone via Bluetooth and it worked right away..

I'm also looking for some answers on this.. It's only happened twice and turning off the car and on again everything works fine..

Check the area around the amp in the trunk. Guessing moisture is playing havoc with the grounding wire. It might be rusty at this point. Find it, and clean it.

Audio came back after about 10 hours. I checked the trunk this morning when my audio was not working around my amp to see if my trunk may be leaking.Everything was dry.

I'm experiencing the same problem. My audio goes out whenever it rains, doesn't matter heavy rain or light rain. When I turn on the audio, it just has a pop sound. However, I can use power wash and wash the car however I want and the audio would be fine. What confuses me is why would rain kill the radio but not washing the car

p.s. previous owner had stereo setup in the trunk so maybe that has something to do with it?
p.s. #2 it always fixes itself the next day/few moments later so I'm beyond confused lol

Exactly! My audio comes back within 10~12 hours after the rain storm LOL. I don't understand why rain affects this and not car washes.
