Moon Roof Help and Guidance
I have a IS250 no longer under warranty. My moon roof stopped opening last year after hearing a snap / pop. Took it to the dealership and they quoted 1,700 minimum. I told them to close it manually and leave it (it was late fall).
Fast forward to now and I took it back to a different dealership and they claimed the motor, cables, and rails need to be replaced. They also told me the headliner "would never be the same" after the work as it would be wrinkled. Cost estimated at 3,000! I just said forget it.
So I am considering trying this myself. I have the instructions on how to take the headliner down from the How To on this site. However I am looking for instructions on how to replace the motor, rails, and cable. Any help?
Also, how difficult it this? I am a novice at best and also is it true that the headliner would be "wrinkled" after taking it down?
