Default New owner to 2008 IS250; Carbon Fiber Roof Wrap

Hi guys! Just bought my 1st IS250, Glacier Fost Mica - I am planning on wrapping the roof with carbon fiber, I was thinking of leaving the Shark Fin white; what do you guys think?
Thank you,
Kayla

Grats on the purchase

When I had my roof wrapped, I told them to leave the antenna alone for a bit to see how the silver would look with the black. I ended up having it wrapped a few days later as I ended up not liking how the antenna looked like it did not belong on the roof.

edit: errrr, now that I remember, I just plastidipped the antenna instead of driving out to the installer. Looks the same as the wrap after 2 coats of black plastidip + 2 coats of plastidip gloss

Contrast will look out of place if you ask me. I did my roof gloss black, plastidipped the fin and it looks a lot better than the silver

No. And it's only used for sat radio I believe. Do not leave it white because you will go back to your installer and do it over.

I've been wrapping for 4 years now and carbon fibre wraps on roofs in my opinion look obvious it's a wrap. It is very hard to find a good Cf that is realistic, although I go with 3M when a customer requests CF.

Material is also much cheaper for Gloss Black (and much cleaner in my opinion)

Thank you! Ill ask about the 3M CF
Gloss black is nice, but I like the look of CF.

I do have to agree, I haven't seen a 6D in person but with that said, if you have or plan to have anything real CF on your car it will be a very obvious difference. If that is the only thing you plan on wrapping or intend on other things being vinyl wrapped you should be okay

This will be the only thing I plan on vinyl wrapping and being "CF" for now - maybe down the road I will take it off and get a rear trunk spoiler

It is personal preference on the shark fin. Vinyl on the shark fin should not affect it.

Thank you! I guess I've seen some photos on google and the fin left white doesn't look too bad.

I've seen some photos on google of white IS250's with CF wrapped roof and the fin was left white and it didn't look too bad. I guess I have some thinking to do

again just my opinion, make sure you do the roof rails too! plastidip works fine and blends with the rubber around the windshield. The car has such clean lines that without doing the rails it stands out drastically, check out the link above, i think it looks great but the wrap doesn't match the front or rear window lines.

are you DIY or having someone else do it?

Good to know. Is there a way for the rails to be wrapped instead of plastidip? I am having someone else do it.
