Default 2007 IS250 RWD 18x8 with 225/40 R18 -is it ok?

hey guys,

my question is, "will those rims fit"?
i have aftermarket wheels on my lexus an i could get oem 18"s but all of them are 8" wide.
ive read somewhere that RWD in the rear should be 8,5" with 255/40 R18

can anybody confirm the proper sizes for RWD IS 250 with 18"?

can i put on 225/40R18 for all 4 wheels? wouldnt it be a problem?
thanks

Hello there, the stock wheel and tires size are like this for the rwd IS.. The front wheels are 18x8 and the rear wheels are 18x8.5 I dont remember the offsets but I think they are in the 30's. Now the front tires should be 225-40-18 and the rear 255-40-18. In the past I have used a 245-40-18 on the rear wheels. Hope this helps.

The standard tire width for an 8" rear wheel is 245 but a 255 will fit just fine.

if you want to do square setup, I would go 245 or 255
225 at the rear is not enough meat in my opinion (unless it is winter tire which you won't push it anyways, and skinny tire helps digging into snow

i ran the same size on the wife's all arround to help life of tire. those were on the 17", which was the same size rim all arround, but different factory tire size.. dont know why they did that.

245 or 255 won't fit on the front - the largest you can go is 235 on an 8" rim with the correct offset. Even then, several manufacturers 235s rub on the front liner.

you want your car looks nice sick and wheel sticking out without needing to install wheel spacer ?

rim 18x9 235/40/18 front : 255/40/18 rear offset 35

for AWD 18x9 235/40/18 offset 35 all around front and rear

I bought the wrong rim before i figured out our car GSE20 and 21 suspension chassis
