I think the 2nd and 3rd gen look good, but I remember when the 3rd gen came out in 2014 the car magazines criticized the large front spindle grill and funky back end taillights and design lines.

Ehhh, the 3IS exterior, esp in the F-Sport trim, has started growing on me. The interior does blow our 2IS's away though.

My only gripe about the 3IS at first was the separate LED. Though it has grown on me. But the refresh model headlights are ugly imo

I think front bumper aside the rest of the 3is looks better. I tried one out and the inside is nicer however I quickly disliked losing the touch screen nav screen.

I love the interior of the second generation and the exterior of the third.

i used to hate 3gen at initial release, but after few years it began growing onto me as well. interior looks great, but its rear always looks like this to me

It took a while to grow on me, but after driving both I went with the 3rd Gen. The interior design is much improved along with added space in the rear seat.

While the 250/350 front bumper has grown on me the fsport version is hideous. I also cant stand how they embedded the LEDs in the bumper and not in the headlight. To be honest the design doesnt flow and looks off. Im still on the fence weather to upgrade to a 2nd gen 2013 350 or 3rd gen. If I feel I can get 5+ years out of the 2nd gen body style without it looking dated then I may go for that instead. Really disappointed in the look of the entire Lexus lineup going forward.

100% hands down I prefer the 2nd gen. I'm not sure why auto makers do such a thing where they really F up what was a really beautiful design. I think the 2IS 350 is just a beautiful display of metal. The new stuff with that PAC MAN MOUTH grille and the Nike Swoosh on the body is just lame. NO THANKS>

In the year 2021 (man it is weird to type that) I will buy a 2013 IS350 with 70-90K miles on it to upgrade from the 2008 IS350 I have now.

I dont like the rear door line on the 3IS or the taillights. If the 3IS is not your flavor but craving something newer , look at the GS350 fsport. It is more expensive but is an absolute stunner. That will be my next move if I dont buy a new house.

The 3rd Gen has grown on me as well.. One thing I don't like is how when you upgrade to F sport models you lose the fog lights... I like the LED drl's though they look so dirty driving head on.. I recently had a 2016 IS300 loaner for a day and I do like the interior a lot better then my 2010. However the 2014 model i HATED the floating mouse or whatever they called it.. thing was so hard to move and click (and actually click on what you wanted to) They went to the dial (like Mercedes) for the 2016 which is much more user friendly
