Moon Roof Throb Noise/Mirror Vibration When Open
with the suggestions from others, I have located the TSB L-SB-0061-11 Moon Roof Throb Noise/Mirror Vibration When Open --
I'm not sure what I can do with this... I just purchased a preowned 08 IS 250 AWD. Have had the car for 2 days - Didn't upen the sun roof when i did the test drive, as it was a rainy day, so this wasn't noticable.
I'm bringing back for a complementary inspection from the Toyota dealer that sold me this car... how do i go about addressing this? I have already contacted my salesman with the issue asking what my options were... i wanted to get as much info and feedback before i call them.. (since he hasn't contacted me yet..)
any info about the TSB and the process, and what I can expect from the dealer that sold me the car??

Since I just bought the car from a Toyota dealer they were obligated to check out the issue. the feedback was that its the way the car is - based on the shape of the roof and how the wind hits when going over 50 mph. When you put your hand up through the moon roof, as its making the noise it stops. They inspected the Rearview mirror.. its in there tight and I have now discovered looking at the service history through lexus owner site, it was actually replaced years ago when the previous owner had the same issue. The solution i was given is to have the roof open 95% instead of fullly open, to crack windows and use the air circulating setting in the car. Doing these things seems to work... and I guess its not really a big deal to do them, if it stops the issue.
They suggested a wind deflector accessory may help, but I don't want to add it to the car if its not going to.

I have the same issue with my 2012 is250. Bought the car last winter and since it was cold windows were always up and then the summer kicked in and Windows were all the way up again with just ac running so it wasn't until fall that I discovered the noise. (Nyc weather sucks) I also got my car from Toyota and it's been so long that I won't bother going back to them specially after reading what they told you. I'm thinking about asking lexus if there's a recall onot this or a way they can fix at no charge hopefully lol. But if anyone has a fix for this please help.
