Default Carbon build up IS250?

Hey guys two things. (2006 is250 rwd with short ram intake usa spec 43,000)

What is this engine recall fix for carbon build up? Is it a thing for lexus canada?

If im not eligable for that, can you guys recomend some addidtive to the fuel or something to clean carbon build up that wont have long term damage to the engine.

Thanks guys let me know

There's a TSIB for it and doing a search within the forums should allow you to find the PDF of it. Try here https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ld-up-csp.html

I would suggest getting an oil catch can to prevent future buildup.

I ordered mine from http://www.rr-racing.com/Lexus-Air-O...isfaos0001.htm I will create a thread once I install mine on how to install it in the IS250 and what not since it is designed for the ISF. If you want something 100% plug and play you could go with http://www.tokensolutions.net/lexus-...h-can/#reviews

There are plenty on eBay and Amazon as well that will do the job.

As far as a fuel additive, I use seafoam or Lucas about once an oil change. Techron is usually pretty expensive but I've heard a lot of good things about it.

Fuel additives like techron don't really work, because our cars our direct injection and don't have fuel injectors. It's why we have carbon buildup in the first place. Use high grade gas to try and prevent buildup. Driving on full throttle periodically also may help. If the carbon becomes a problem and u do get the stutteeing symptoms get a top engine cleaning done.

Would SeaFoam through a vacuum line clean this carbon buildup? I'm looking at buying an '08.

Thing is the warranty isn't valid in Canada, makes no sense. My 2006 hasn't shown any signs yet and it's at 150k in kms

That said the check VSC light is on and won't turn off

It seems like the TSB is not valid in Canada. Lexus USA recognized the issue, Lexus Canada didn't. Just read about that a few minutes ago...
