Default Caster bushings in lower control arms cracked?

Well i just hit 100K miles in my 2009 IS250 AWD, and had dealer do an nspection. They say my caster bushings in both lower control arms are cracked. They said they dont need to be replaced yet, but will be once they get worse. I was quoted $755 to replace. Can anyone educate me on this? Does this sound right? Anyone know caster bushing lexus part numbers? FYI i'm on stock wheels/suspension.

$755 is way over priced... Each bracket costs about $55, and you could replace them yourself if you have any mechanical ability in less than an hour. The bracket part# right side 4807530030 and left side 4807630030 with zero offset which is what you should need. Here is a link: http://www.lexussouthatlantaparts.co...rimLevel=19105

Great thank, I think they said $85 each for the parts and 4 hrs labor. I'm not sure if I'll do it myself though. Prob try and find a decent shop.

In case anyone else needs this, i found this DIY to change the bushings :
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...mount-2-a.html

In the DIY he's actually upgrading to aftermarket FIGs polyurethane bushings. I found a thread about them, and came across the RC-F bushings, they are an OEM replacement, just with stiffer rubber then the IS bushings. I'm going to upgrade to them. They don't have maintenance requirements that FIGs ones do.

Here's the thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sus...duro-hp-8.html

Cheers

Doesn't look complicated to change, requires minimal knowledge...

Don't you have a buddy with a garage and some decent tools? Buy him a case of beer and do it with him That 755$ is 90% of labor charges haha.

Rule of thumb; Unless your car is still under warranty, don't go to Stealerships except for oil changes (and still...).

Oh yes, after finding the DIY i'll definitely be doing it myself. And i agree, usually the only thing i use the dealer for is oil changes. I bring in my own oil and filter, they charge $30, and do a full inspection of everything.
