Default 350z HR??

Hey guys, just wanted to ask if any of you on here own or have owned a 350z. Or if anyone of you has "encountered" a 350z while in there IS350. More specifically the High Rev variant (07+). As of late I've been researching the Z's since as a car enthusiast, I like to learn about cars and stuff lol.

Now one thing that has caught my attention is the High Rev motor which red lines @7500rpm and produces 306hp stock. Similar to our is350 though we only redline @6500rpm. But I have also researched these cars potential and saw that with just a tune they can pick up 20whp. And even more with just very basic bolt ons. Impressive to say the least..

But what really got my attention is how there are some folks over on the Z boards (I think my350z.com or something like that) claiming that they can run low 13's and trap up to 107mph bone stock? Is this actually true or just a load of bs? I've always thought the Z was quick but if anything only equal to our 4 door sedans lol. But now I'm seeing that these cars apparently trap what my brothers tuned G8 GT does? Seems unlikely...

What do you guys think? Anybody have any experience or any encounters with a 350z in your IS350?

Oh and also do you guys think our cars will have more potential with these new 7200rpm tunes coming for us from RR racing and TTFS?

Okay thanks. But What I'm more curious is if it's true that the HR can trap a 107mph? Is this true or just fanboy nonsense? Wouldn't that also mean that the 3.5 is better than their own 3.7?

yes they do trap 107. my 03 Z trapped 103 and i ran a 13.6 down to the stock tire.

the HR Z is faster. even if you aren't the best driver, a 13.3 is easy to get.

So they trap 107 with only 306hp? Damn that is very impressive. Makes me want one kinda, but then again I'd rather not give up luxury in the name of performance... But damn that is really good for a 3.5.

That 107 trap speed is stock correct? Is this just a hero run or the norm? I've seen IS350 runs with Z's on YouTube and they're pretty close with the win usually going to the IS. Surprised to say the least lol. Now I wanna go up against one

Edit: Do you think they trap higher because they can rev higher? I wonder if that means my IS350 can trap higher after I get my 7200rpm tune?

Hmmm.. You sure they only weight 3180? I googled and came up with 3340 at the lightest?

And now I see that Caymandive apparently trapped 109 at the same track that the 350z HR trapped 107 at? Is that just a super amazing track or something? Because 109 is not the norm on a IS350 even with small mods

ive owned 03 350z and 04 350z convertible at the same time. i had both weigh without me , the 03 was 3180. the vert was 3420. i can't see the HR being too much more heavy.

is350 is not as fast as a 350z HR with equal drivers and the same track.

With that weight different it better be lol. I doubt they trap 107 though on a normal basis. Otherwise is350's are now 109mph cars with just intake and exhaust

But yeah I'm sure it is faster stock vs stock or even mod per mod since it is lighter.

i think you would be surprised. its not hard to get the fastest trap number. its hard to get the good quarter mile time.

Interesting.. So your saying 107 is easily attainable then? Also just out of curiosity have you raced a Z in an IS350 or are you just guessing based on your prior ownership? Just asking since your name is ISFpower lol

I personally haven't raced a Z but have been in an IS350 against a Z. Maybe the guy didn't know how to drive but we took him by about a car length. Also at the track a 350Z couldn't go faster 13.6 when my buddy was doing 13.4 consistently on his IS350. It's definitely not a slow car but that's my 2 cents. However I don't know if any of those 350Zs were a HR model.
