drove 3is 350 rwd f-sport with navi. 20k miles certifed and even without any negotiations its $32k. didnt really like it that much, but nothing to hate either. nice seats, decent consule, great suspension and exhaust note, felt slower compared to 2is.

Love the new IS exterior and interiors, but 2IS is faster by about .5 second.

2IS is faster AND looks better, it really is a modern classic...the 3IS styling has a haphazard/disjointed feel to it. I know styling is subjective but damn, I just don't understand what Lexus was thinking with the 3IS

You would think that the 8 speed would help like it does in the ISF, but since our 6 speed transmission in the 2IS is350 is geared so aggressively we actually have a nice advantage over the new generation. But hey, at least the 3IS handles better in stock form though right? Also the steering feels nicer and more connected in my opinion. But that's just because Lexus had a different philosophy IMO with the 3IS. And that was to beat the Germans at their own game lol. And they did just that with the IS350 F Sport

When the new 3IS debuted I thought Lexus was gonna bump up the power by placing a new 3.6 or 3.7 in these cars but to my surprise they decided to use the same exact engine again. And what's worse is that they didn't even decide to tune it a bit better that the last generation, they left it untouched
I guess it's because they wants to beat out the BMW's on handling alone and not because of new found power. That way people would be really surprised when the 3IS F sport would eventually beat the 3 series at their own game... But damn it they should have at least added a higher redline or something from factory.

I wonder how does 2is Fsport with swaybars stack up to 3is Fsport in handling. Some people price their 2is Fsports almost the same if not more then certified 2014 3is )
I was cash ready to pay 23-24k for 2is f sport, but I guess someone bought it for 25k. Would still need to buy new summer tires and swaybars for it, thats other $1k+. Didnt think its worth it. Another guy listed his for $33k lol, you can buy ISF for that money

From what I remember the reason why the 3IS is slower is because it gained a tiny bit more weight , I think has a slightly longer wheelbase but not sure, and the 8 speed transmission.
