Default The Black Nav of Death

So I have what seems to be common - Nav quit working.
Most people don't mention that their Radio side buttons, AC/Heat side buttons, and radio station controls don't work either.
I have steering wheel radio controls but that is it.

Will the the $45 digitizer fix this? Or is my problem uncommon?

No they wont. Your display driver is damaged.
Would you mind to take pictures of it with headlight on so I could help you determine your problem

I haven't checked the fuses. Anyone know which fuse it is? Under dash or hood?
Totally bummed. We're building a house right now and $2K for a auto repair wasn't really in budget lol.

Ok I've seen this happen before 2 times, it's the pcb board in the unit. They rarely crap out. I have an extra navi unit if you are interested, I took this out of my 2008 isf when I bought the 2009 unit and vents above which is what you need to get the black vents. Pm me if you are interested.

He cannot repair this problem.
OP, your unit is totally out. You need to replace the main board. You don't have to spend $2k for repair. The total cost to repair it around $400 plus one way shipping.

Who does the repair, and what do they do for $400?

First at all, they need to remove the BGA, re-ball it and mount it back to the PCB. Most of the shop wont do it cause it cause a lot of time and tolls (BGA re-ball machine). they just simply apply some heat on top of BGA to temp fix it, that is the reason why they just offer 6 months warranty.

Black out unit is most common problem now due to failure of 1 or 2 board behide the unit. First one is display power board (on the back of LCD). The second one (display driver) is second board on top of DVD MAP DRIVE.
90% is display driver board

I found the repair on eBay with 6 mo warranty for $450
What about the other repair on eBay for $299

Do these not work permanently?
Are they similar to the yellow light of death fix on the PS3? Lol
They will only work for 7 months then go to crap?

Those repair places on eBay are no good. They damaged one of my friends navi units, he's only lasted 8 months and they lied about giving him a one year warranty. They used cheap parts to repair it. I always stick with original.
