Yeah what a rip off! It was $600 something for the ECU and $100 something for labor. I ended up ordering one from Ebay from a wrecked IS250 for $212 shipped with 6 month warranty. I thought I was going to have to return my loaner car since I bought my part from someone else and they told me to keep it till my part comes in which most likely will be Monday. Saved over $400 and get to drive around in a 2016 IS250 for a week. Score for me

I seen 06 with it!
Why you going back with Infinity? For that extra horsepower? Good brand, but value and reliability = less than Lex

Well got a call from Lexus and the new ecu is in but the power steering is still not working as it should. Now they want to replace the rack and that is $3k to replace. Not sure what to do because the car is only worth about 9k now and I owe way more than that.

Anyone know if a 09 or 10 IS250 AWD steering rack is compatible with an 08? They have different part numbers but online retailers that are selling used ones say they are compatible. Don't want to spend $1200 in labor to find out it doesn't work.

Did you ask the dealership about fitment? They'll know.

Yes I ordered an 10 AWD for my 08 AWD. Dealer said they didn't know but I think they were a little pissed I didn't buy the part from them. Was a little worried after dealer said they didn't know and its a 9 hour job to swap it out.

Post was in 2016... don't hold your breath. Get under the car and check the connections. Do the same for EPS ECU under the battery. To date many have replaced EPS and to my knowledge not one has been fixed. It's always something else.
As for 9 hour to R&R R&P.... that's hogwash. Sounds more like 2 hours with alignment. That said, measuring old and new tie rod lengths would at a minimum have the correct toe but steering wheel may not be centered.
