Default Aftermarket HID Headlights and HIDs

I purchased the DTMoto LED headlights a couple months back. I really like them a lot.

My Questions:

1. I realized that the bulbs are different for these LED headlights (H7 bulb) as opposed to the OEM headlights (H11 bulb). I want to install some quality HIDs in the LED lights now that match the color of the aftermarket LEDs. For anyone who has experience with this, does 5000K or 6000K match the color better?

2. How can I get the DRL to turn off when the LED is on? I've read that some people purchased a different bulb and that other people went to the dealer to have this done. Can anyone clarify once and for all with a definitive answer?

I got 5500k from morimoto, they match pretty well.

I removed the dlr bulb and just left it unhooked.

Thanks for the information Icy350! I thought that the DRL was the same bulb as the high beam, just at a lower power setting. I will unplug mine for sure.

Would you recommend the 5500K or would you go with the 5000K/6000K if you could buy them again?

You could disable it via techstream (if you have) or has your dealership disable it during the visit. Too bad you are not in my area so i could help you out on disable it.
