At the price point you mention, 23k vs 40k is almost 2x the difference. IMO you cant really count mods into the price of a car., especially if you're going to be buying parts for the F anyways. Sometimes its not about how much you CAN put out for a car, but how much you are willing. As cars are depreciating assets, a couple hundred a month extra spent on payments can go a LONG way elsewhere.

For me, personally, when I bought my car, the F would have cost me 3x as much. Also, F has no manual; no dice.

I like show and go. Sometime you do need speed and 306 HP does come in handy.

Was looking for a DD at the time when I still had my S2000, considered an IS250 manual for the sake of manual, then realized how much I hated the actual feeling of the IS250 manual. IS350 provided more usable power to me since there is a large hill on my daily commute on the freeway that an IS250 would need to downshift to 4th to maintain 75-80, whereas my IS350 just cruises in 6th. I didn't consider an ISF at all due to price and had my fun car, the S2000 already.

However, now I'm looking for an ISF due to me absolutely hating the "S" mode and lack of LSD. This new tune for the IS350 may deter me away from an ISF if it can reprogram the "S" mode though. Tires were never a concern for me as I really feel I need more grip than my current Hankook V12 (looking to get PSS or AD08R once they wear out). An ideal IS350 for me would be Sard 6MT and OS Giken LSD and coilovers, but the cost of that I can get an ISF and if I already think 306 HP is fine, 416 would be more than enough.

I also love IS-F but 2011+ because of LSD and smoother suspension. I just don't like the price. my IS350 was pretty good deal.

That's why I quit dropping so much $$$ into my cars.
Wheels/tires/springs/tint/grill/emblems smoked and it looks different than most others on the road and didn't cost much to make it look that way ($3K) And it's still mostly factory parts.
I had $23K cash and that was my budget. Found a 2007 IS350 with 30K miles and it was brand new. Previous owner refused to wear jeans while driving it and it was garaged it's whole life. Perfect.
So $23K for a brand new car with no car payment
Or $35K for a used ISF with higher miles and a car payment.
Kind of a no brainier for me.

I love the IS-F. I purposely didnt buy it because I like driving and I like having a License. If i had an IS-F, I would have had tons of tickets lol. Its a fast car that I just would want to drive fast. Its what I've done with all my previous performance cars. Now that the drive fast bug has left my system I can afford to get an IS-F and drive it like an adult

I didn't want a car payment and could afford a 350 in cash and didn't want to pay a stealership and have monthly payments. But if I had 34k cash at the time....isf all the way lol
