So I recently bought a 07 IS250 from a local dealer. The deal was to trade in my 07 Honda accord coupe and loan from the bank. Everything is working out great until when I find out the day when I went to pick the car there were still no inspection sticker...So I asked are you going to get registered? He said "yea I will have it done by Saturday!" Then he told me you can drive for 7 days without a inspection sticker.Now today I went to him directly and there was problem, he needs the previous owner to sign off the title..(he look confused ) He confirmed that today he already sign it off but now he needs to wait until Tuesday to get it all done. Right now im driving a unregistered car with my old honda accord plates.. Is this guy giving me the runarounds?

Was is a Lexus dealer? Or one of those independent fly by night ones? I dont know all the technicalities but I wouldnt have left the dealer without all the proper documentation and inspection sticker. Think about it, if you get pulled over for no inspection sticker you also have plates on the car that dont belong to it. It sounds like a big mess to me.

In Ma you have 7 days to register the car and get an inspection sticker. You are completely legal driving on the accord plates as long as they are in good standing since you sold it. I wouldn't drive the car without having the paperwork with me to show the officer if you get stopped, but yes 7 days is legal. The registry won't be open until Tuesday due to the holiday on Monday.
