Need dealership oil change price verification...
I recently inquired about an oil change for my 2008 IS250 with 43k miles. The dealer is Longo Lexus, which has been fair with my in the past. The current quote for a basic oil change (not an interval service) is now $123. I felt that is high. Did something change since last year for oil change prices? My last one was under $90. I'd like to hear some opinions before I commit.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Wow, that's high. I pay 49.95 + tax for my 2012 acura mdx at the dealer and that's for synthetic. That's a sale price the regular price is around $65. I'll double check what my lexus dealer charges for my 07 is250.

Is that with synthetic? I think that is about normal for synthetic, no?
I use conventional oil at my local Lexus dealer and they charge like $65, and give me a loaner.

Call around other dealers. My dealer charges 80+ whatever taxes and fees. I am in the bay area tho but the price should not be 40 dollars apart...yikes
I do my own changes, cost me about $25 since i find rebates on motor oil.

Usually the prices are market based. (Dealers compare labor rates against other competitors in the area every year or so to stay competitive) with that being said... That is high for my area, but 5w30 with a gasket and yzza5 filter is about 65$.

Thanks all for the replies. I did check around with other dealers and found a few that were lower. Took that price back to my original dealer and he said they'd match it. Will stick with them, thanks to their free flatbed pick-up/drop-off.

I've only seen this for exotics. And you're not paying $100 for an oil change on an exotic. (Previous Ferrari owner here).

^^^^That reminds of what the Buick dealership did with my Dad's car when I was a kid (some 70 years ago). The had a three wheeled Harley with a big trunk in the back for tools. They would come the house on the Harley, hook it up and tow the Buick in for service. When finished they would tow the Buick back to the house.
