Default Wheel Well question, need experienced advice

Long story short, I just got my car back from the body shop due to damages to the front bumper by ice and snow, and 1 week later, i go up on a curb and rip off my driver side front piece wheel well. I really dont want to spend all that money again and take it back to the body shop, does anyone know if I can find a decent after market piece, and how difficult/easy it is to install one of these?

this piece is damaged due to pic 3 showing the holes that the push pins hold it to the car are broken, so I do want a brand new piece, but does anyone see any other issues, or can i just buy a new piece?

Also, I might have to sell the car due to me moving to a new area that has much more ice and snow that I am used to. I do know there are snow tires for the vehicle, do you think that would fix the issue with my 2006 is250 sliding around EVERYWHERE. it seems the brand new hankook v12's just dont have any traction on snow.

They certainly don't and they shouldn't. This is from Hankook:

The Ventus V12 is Hankook's Max Performance Summer tire developed for the drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes and high performance sedans. The Ventus V12 evo is designed to combine comfort and control in dry and wet road conditions. However like all summer tires, the Ventus V12 evo is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Ventus V12 evo radials feature Hankook's High Tg Polymer & Specific Resin (HPSR) compound molded into a directional tread design featuring a Multiple Tread Radius (MTR) profile that combines notched shoulder ribs, independent intermediate tread blocks and a continuous center rib to blend powerful braking with predictable handling. Wide circumferential and Y-shape lateral grooves help direct water through the tire's footprint to resist hydroplaning.

The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by two-ply high-density, spirally wrapped jointless nylon. Additionally, a two-layer rayon casing sandwiches a hard rubber in the sidewall between the body cord plies to help resist distortion at high speeds and while cornering.
With that being said, some summer tires (I have Bridgestone S-04s) have a rubber compound that can be altered and damaged by exposure to below freezing temps. I would NEVER expose my S04s to cold winter temps.

As far as replacing the piece, I doubt you'll be able to find one in the after market. But, if your friends with the Lexus dealer's parts manager, you should be able to pick one up at a reasonable price and install it yourself.

Thanks. Are there tires out there for the IS250 that dont make you slide around and have little to no traction in the snow? I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.

I am also going to attempt to put the wheel well back on, despite its few broken pieces, wish me luck.

Dedicated winter tires like:

All Seasons would be a better choice for winter weather, but IMHO are a compromise if your an enthusiastic driver as I am.

Yes there are aftermarket wheel well liners for our car; Have a set myself in the house. LOL!

However, the fitment of the aftermarket pieces are not perfect next to the OEM ones.

Welcome to the thread Gville, as always your input is always appreciated. Where should I go about getting one of those? And from the pictures, did you happen to see anything that shows dramatic damage that would prevent me from putting it back on?

Thanks flowrider, do you feel that those tires will make a drastic difference? I went today to look at trucks and jeeps, and might possibly sell my IS, just due to the snow accumulation around here. Probably doesnt help that my car is lowered as well.

After reviewing the pics again, I don't really see where there might be any "major" damage that might cause you any issues during a re-install. Maybe in the second pic you might have the remove the "wind deflector" since its only attached by 2 of the 3 clips...your call.

Got it put back on, 2 screws coming up from the wind deflector, 2 or 3 screws going into the vehicle from the wheel well itself (they got ripped through the holes in the wheel well, i used a large washer to secure them back). Very easy to put back on. Thank you for your help.
