Default 2007 IS250 low beam bulb recommendation

The low beams on my wifes 2007 is250 are not coming on. First one went and then within a couple weeks the other went. They are to my knowledge the original OEM bulbs.

I visited Xenon Depot but got kinda confused. I want something as close to OEM as possible, mostly I just dont want a replacement bulb that is yellow. Apart from that stipulation I dont know exactly what I need, just the bulb I guess.

There are two categories of low beam bulbs, Low beam headlight bulb D45 (with HD headlamps), or Low beam headlight bulb H11 (with Halogen capsule headlamps). Which category do I choose from?

Sorry for being so dense but I havent done this cars bulbs before.

Is there any other vendors you might recommend?

In order to answer your questions, we first need to know if your original headlights are halogen (traditional yellowish light -- same color as your high beams), or HID (whitish light).

The original lights were not yellow so I guess they're HID.
I suppose I'll have to access them to tell for sure?

For the purpose of this reply, I'll make the assumption that you have factory HID lights.

If you want the same bulbs your car originally came with, it would be the 4300k Philips XenEco: http://www.xenondepot.com/D4S-Philip.../pb-d4s-4k.htm (these are sold individually, so you would need two for a matching pair)

If you want a slightly whiter bulb with no loss in intensity, the 5000k Osram CBI is excellent. I just bought a pair for my car, and am very pleased with both the color and brightness: http://www.xenondepot.com/d4s-cbi-66...p/66440cbi.htm (these are sold by the pair)

Be aware that both of these bulbs are frequently counterfeited, you'll find countless sellers on eBay and Amazon selling fakes.

Just going to throw this in there:

If you're doing the job yourself (bulb replacement), never touch the bulb glass with your hands or allow it to get in contact with oil, grease or other liquids. This will shorten the life of the bulb by creating a hot-spot. If you do touch the glass tube, please use rubbing alcohol to clean the glass surface before final installation.

Whenever I've done a replacement, I usually wear clean, fresh gloves or if none available a paper towel to handle the bulb if necessary.

I also upgraded from my OE (10yr old 4300k) HIDs to 5000k Osram CBI bulbs last weekend from the Xexon Depot. Worth every penny for the light output and peace of mind of being able to see farther in front of you.

Great info here!
I'm about to order a new set of HIDs but money is tight at the moment...
What do you guys think of the XenonDepot "house brand", are they pretty good? -- comparable to OEM?
i'm talking about these ones:

http://www.xenondepot.com/D4S-HID-Bulb-p/xt-d4s.htm

On sale for only 120 for a pair!
I'm not picky, but just want something that works fine and won't break in a year.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

If you are going to buy those, check the sticky at the top of our vendor marketplace forum as I'm pretty sure there is a discount code.

I've seen a couple of threads here from people who have installed them and were happy with the light output, and haven't heard of any problems with them, though for my own car I feel more comfortable with the Philips or Osram bulbs.
