Wow. Maybe a lot of cars are affected in your state. Have an appointment for mine this Saturday after only waiting a month and a half. Id call Lexus corp. and complain a little. See if that gets you any where.

Why not just buy the replacement? It's not that expensive.

Exactly my thought!

I would buy all four no problem if there was a straight forward DIY to replace them. For sure!

The bottom moldings are held in place by plastic clips and would be pretty straightforward to replace... The tops are actually pop riveted into the door frame, you need to drill out the old rivets to remove the old moldings and put new rivets in with the new moldings, a regular hand held riveter works... I replaced the top moldings myself and it was'nt to difficult.

Ill look into new ones and how to install them. But im not paying $200 for all four. Im sure I can get 3m black molding tape or something and just cut it to size. Or im thinking of a dab of crazy glue every inch or two. I know I can fix this for cheap.

Anyone know where I can get a parts manual with the cost of these molding strips? I also want to know if I have to buy the complete chrome strip or just the black molding? And how how everything comes apart. Sewell was the only place I know of and now theyre site is down. Thanks

Guys, do this. Just cut it off then buy a can of trim paint, comes in a green can. I ALWAYS use this for the trim on my cars and it comes out looking amazing and new. I'm going to do it to mine, I'll take pics.

I've used 3m trim adhesive. You have to be careful when applying but it works fine. Use a tooth pick to put tiny amounts under the lifted part.

Id have to remove the chrome molding. Anything involving a spray can turn into a mess. Id rather glue back in place the strip or replace it.
