The only picture I have if it is from when I got the windows tinted, but this should give you an idea. It's just chrime underneath, I didn't remove any of the trim from the very back window, but it hasn't bothered me

Crazy glue might make it worse and will be hard to remove. I've also heard of people just plasti-dipping it black

I cut mine off with a razor too. I think it look pretty good without it. I would taste money on plastidipping it unless you hate chrome

Lol jesus dude its just a plastic adhesive strip. My car is 8 years old with 75,000 miles and the elements just got to it. Not a reason to never buy a Lexus again. Its a cheap fix with some kind of glue. Or im sure I can just buy the strips from Lexus and install myself.

Aren't recalls for safety reasons? I doubt a peeling trim is putting you in danger?

I mean it will hardly be a "recall" lol. What else do you want? They are replacing dash pads and door panels. Plus I think the part is somewhere around 60 per door.

oh well, my Audi being almost 21 years old, same vinyl on metal, not peeling and still perfect. hmmm. oh well, i can replace. However there is no clear DIY on how to replace. But yeah, never a Lexus again. I also was told by my dealer it could be up to 1.5 years before they get to my dash and doors, what kind of deal is that?

Probably because Florida has the highest volume of melted interiors with the heat and humidity. Here in Tennessee it only takes 6-9 weeks.

While I'm not saying they should be recalled, I sort of agree wth S6. My 02 GS300 and 04 ES330 both look like they did when they left the factory, they have held up incredibly well. While it may be unreasonable, I sort of expected the same fit and finish from the IS, I'm not disappointed, I just realized how well made older Lexus are.

I have the same issue on the same door actually but it isn't peeling as much as yours. Try 3m adhesive apply it carefully with a brush and mask off the chrome below the trim where you don't want to get adhesive. I haven't touched mine, its hardly noticeable and doesn't bother me.
