Default 08 is250 Oil Leak after Carbon Build Up Repair?

Hi All,

I have a 2008 Is250 AWD with 130,000 miles. In March 2014 I had the carbon build up repair done and lately I have been noticing small oil drops on my garage floor. I was under the car the other day doing an oil change and shined a flash light up to where the leak was originating and it appears its coming from the timing cover. Its a tiny leak but a leak nonetheless.

It is my understanding that the carbon build up repair involved changing many of the gaskets. I'm wondering if the timing cover gasket was one of the gaskets replaced? With the number of miles I have it may very well be caused by old age so I don't want to blame the dealer if this gasket was unaffected.

If anyone knows if the carbon build up repairs involved changing the timing cover gasket please let me know.

Thank You

How in-depth was your "carbon build-up" repair that they performed? Did they replace the pistons? If so, they would have to remove the timing cover to remove the heads from the block.
