Fidelity Warranty Services Extended Warranty - Anyone Have Experience?
I purchased a 2009 IS350 with 35k miles on it on 10/3. The dealer I bought it from sold me a Fidelity Warranty Services Platinum Level extended warranty. He told me it was a 4 years/48k miles "bumper to bumper" warranty. He even "threw in" the tire coverage. I paid $1,795 for it, and it has a $100 deductible.
He also told me that the company was owned by Toyota. It is not owned by Toyota. It is owned by JM Family Enterprises, which owns a toyota distribution network and a lexus dealer as well as other lines of business. It is NOT a Toyota warranty as I was led to believe.
Then, I was told I couldn't buy it later if I refused it when buying the car. Just did some quick checking, and you can buy any number of extended warranties at any time.
So, I did some research, and it appears that this is not a reputable warranty based on the reviews online (see below).
Their website:

Review Websites:
http://www.consumeraffairs.com/auto_.../fidelity.html
http://www.bbb.org/south-east-florid...ch-fl-25000717
http://www.yelp.com/biz/fidelity-war...eerfield-beach
http://www.ripoffreport.com/r/Fideli...-to-Pay-843162
So, has anyone had any direct experience with this company? Are they as bad as the internet would lead me to believe?
I have 30 days to cancel the policy for a full refund, so I am trying to get some feedback prior to then.

If you read bad things about them then bounce. Did you check if the recalls were taken care of? You can do a lot of the work yourself, don't be so worried but I understand. Keep researching it may help!

Thanks for the thread and comments! I'll be diving into those other mentioned threads this evening. It was suggested to me by my Lexus service advisor here in Phoenix to purchase an extended warranty for my 07 LS460 (177k miles). He gave me a pamphlet on Fidelity's High Milage Extended Service Warranty. Later I decided to refi and add the extended warranty. My bank offered to include their extended warranty (Route66) in with the refi. or one of my chose (Fidelity). My Lexus service advisor said they are both great and that he has no problem with either, even suggested to go with the bank offered warranty as it would be cheaper then financing through their dealer.
Prior to this I had learned that JM Family Enterprises (Fidelity) was started by Jim Moran (the courtesy man/book title too), the first Toyota Distributor. He ultimately helped create the Lexus brand as he worked very close with Dr. Eiji Toyoda. Great history and worth the research if you're interested.
The two warranty options are:
Route66 ??? (banks' offer) $1,611 for 3yrs/40k miles (still waiting for full plan details to be sent).
Fidelity Gold Plan High Milage Vehicle Protection (dealers' offer) $4162 for 2yrs/24k miles, $5069 for 3yrs/36k miles, $6207 4yrs/48k miles
I'll more likely go with the banks warranty offer (Route66) so long as the terms are reasonable and in the vehicles favor. I'll more likely need some suspension work done soon but other then that everything appears to be top notch still.
