Default Buying a used IS350, got a few ?'s

Hey all, I'm in the market for a used IS350. I'm trying to stick with the 08 due to the rear leg room/steering revamp. I found one that caught my eye, an 08 with premium package, hids, 18 wheels, navi, heated/ventilated seats, 93k miles, 2 owner, in Tungsten Pearl/white interior. Dealer wants $16.9k for it. It does have a few issues though.

1. It has 3 recalls available on it (Fuel pressure sensor leak, wiper arm nut, vvt actuator) that have never been done. Lexus won't give me any trouble for having these done way after they were issued, will they?

2. Car was in an accident back in 11, with the original owner dumping it a month after. Moderate to severe damage reported on right front side. Airbags did not deploy though. Anything I should be cautious about when I take a look at it?

3. The dash. I finally had my Camry done last week and I do not ever want to go through a melting dash again. Are all is250/350's eligible for it if they're melting, or is Lexus going by certain VINs?

4. Price, although I don't know how much you guys can help me here. Again, dealer wants $16.9k. How much do you think I can get them to budge? I would like to take it for 16 out the door due to the accident reported, lack of window tint in hot and sunny Louisiana (this is big to me, I got knocked $400 for ceramic and it really does keep the heat out), and the numerous recalls/potential dash replacement I'd have to deal with. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet in person, so I don't know if there's anything else wrong mechanically or physically yet.

Thanks fellas.

For what its worth im about to buy a 2006 IS350 with 92k miles for 10k flat. Just test drove it yesterday brought it to MY, mechanic with original owner he ran all tests and drove it and gave me the go ahead.

Theres also a perfect condition 2009 infiniti g37 available with 70k miles listed at 13.5k will prob go at 12.5-13k

Yours seems pretty expensive especially with that history

Id shop around

IS350 are pretty rare in some states. Didnt have much to choose from when we were shopping around for my wife. It was either '10 RWD with 50k for $19.5, or '11 AWD with 37k for $24. I though both were decent deals, could be wrong

Paid 15500 for an 06 with 60000, no nav.

When looking at Car Max, I'm seeing low inventory of older model years likely due to their current affordability. That being said, they should be able to drop 1500 off that price.

Good luck, let us know how it works out.

With the known accident reported, I'd avoid the car altogether.

Seems like my post got moderated for some reason and hasn't been approved...

Anyways, 350s are rare here in Baton Rouge at least. I've looked all across LA, MS, TN, and parts of TX/AL and they all seem to be in that price range for the mileage, give or take anyways. I did find some 70k-80kish mile 350s in TN, but they sold before I could get a look at them. I really do want to stick with an 08 at the very least, although I see pretty good deals on 06-07s. 250's are pretty numerous around here, but I'm not interested in one.

The car itself is going through their service department at the moment and won't be out until Tuesday night as it was a recent trade in. I won't be able to look at it until Wednesday. Hopefully the accident that happened to it didn't cause any major damage. If they'll let me, I'll probably take it to an independent mechanic and have them look at it if they'll let me. If I can't find any major problems and they are willing to play ball with me and my trade in, I'll go for it. In the meantime though, I'm still browsing around to find if there's any other deals. Had a insurance quote ran today and it came out to be cheaper than my 07 Camry, pretty surprised.

Just a slight update. Saw it today, test drove it. Drove nice, tires are of the noisy variety though. Has the sticky dash issue, and the door panels as well. Can def tell the bumper was repainted at one point due to the accident. Either they fixed it and repainted it, or something, as it's the OEM bumper. I didn't see any damage to the frame when I was looking.

Got them down from 16.9 to 15.9. Trying to weasel them out of at least 300 more. If I can, I guess the deal is done.

If you can easily tell that the bumper was re-sprayed, I'd avoid it. Sounds like the repair was on the cheap-side.

Loving that color scheme, wood and nav. If it drives nice, go for it.

I ended up buying it, got a good deal on it. Had it checked out at a independent mechanic, car checked out fine, no frame damage or anything. Used all OEM parts so that was a plus. Car drives awesome, loving the power, gas mileage is nearly the same as the Camry I got rid of so that's always a plus.

Bought a F sport grille today, and ordered a new left side reflector for the rear bumper since I didn't catch it got cracked.
