Doesnt move around unless I have a case on. Mine has a metal plate that i put inside of my removeable cover which attaches to the magnet on the vent. So If i have a case on my phone then it doesnt stay still over bumps since the magnet has to go through a layer of plastic and leather.

I removed the ash tray (cool little automatically pushes itself up after pushing the button) and added velcro to the front and back to hold my iphone up. I added a piece of the soft velcro side to my phone case and it slides in perfectly and holds it conveniently to see GPS and for using spotify for music. Aux cord/ charger fits snugly.
-if you dont smoke, this works well and no ugly suction cup/vent holder required.

I place mine where the ashtray is. Just removed the ash gate.
There was someone who modded a deck unit and placed it there. It's something I;ve planned to do but, you know, life gets in the way...

I'm looking for a spot for mine. I would really prefer high up on the dash so I can easily see the screen while driving. Mounting on top of the dash would be ideal, but I don't want to damage anything with adhesive.

I've seen several non-adhesive dashboard mounts on Amazon, both the weighted beanbag type, as well as suction devices. You could also use a windshield suction mount, which would probably be more secure than a dash mount.
