Default Engine swap

So I had my engine swapped on my 06 IS350, from a "mechanic" and now he says it won't start.. Was wondering what could be the issue, starter? Fuse? he says it might need to be hooked up to a computer to reset the codes?

It could be numerous of things. What did you swap it with and why? Was it a used engine? If everything is placed back then yeah codes possibly?

I swapped with exact motor, same year and yes used.. Because The other one seized up on me due to not changing oil. Huge lesson learned.

Damn bro. I've also had engines swapped and it's a not brain science so it could be a simple fix.................
if he knows what he's doing? Is he reputable? You trust the engine you got from him? I'm a lil skeptical bout used engines as it can be a crap shoot. GL

That's true about used engines, but this one is good. And he said everything is hooked up right, so the codes then? Do you know of anything else it could possibly be?

Immobilizer would not be an issue if the mechanic did it correctly as he would have reused the original wire harness and ecu unless he was a tard and didnt.

Just wondering how many miles/years did you go not changing oil to have the engine seize up? Was the oil low or just too old?

It was just low, not old or anything. And the jacked up part I was gonna do it that same day. But I just done a straight pipe and I was using the triptronic, I was told that eats up a lot of oil too

He just might have been a tard and didn't, he used the ones on the other engine. cause I seen the old engine and still had the wires.
