Default Paint bubbling/peeling on lip

Hey everyone,

The other day I noticed that the paint on my front lip is bubbling and coming off.

I spoke with the body shop that painted the lip and they basically told me this:
When I'm driving around, the lip scrapes and tries to push up against the body but doesn't really have anywhere to go so there's stress on the lip causing the paint to separate around the edges.

Has anyone every run into this issue? Is it possible that it's the way the body shop is painting the lip?
Looked around the forum and couldn't find anything about this specific issue which is why I'm thinking it's the body shop.

Thanks a lot for your reply guys! Good to hear that it's the paint job and not ride height. Wasn't looking forward to raising my car ._.

Yep, that has nothing to do with the root cause of the bubbling. Most likely paint/primer applied without using any cleaning solvents OR too much moisture in the painting environment.

Looks like I'll have to find a new bodyshop to redo my lip =/
Speaking of moisture, if I park my car outdoors all the time, is there a possibility of this happening more often? or is solely due to painting process?

Your on point dogg. I know a lil bout paint and it's what you mix your paint & primer with that makes it bond and flex properly. You may get chips here and there and the only way around that is clear bra the front end.
This shop did a crappy quick job to make a buck. Also when you get a freshly paint car, or parts, it's wise to let it cure and sit for days if not weeks. I've have candy paint on 2 of my cars and this is what we do. Painting booth at the correct temp is important just like anything else............
prep work!

It sounds like the body shop didn't add the proper flex additive, which is recommended to promote adhesion and flexibility when painting plastic parts like bumper covers and lips.

thanks for your replies!
yeah the body shop that painted my lip doesn't really deal with modded cars. they're solely a body shop so I don't know if that makes a difference.
