Default Burning oil

My 06 IS350 with 115k mi is burning a lot of oil. About a quart every 750 - 1000 miles. Has anyone experienced this?

My car has 36k miles and burns no measurable amount between oil changed. Then again I am the original owner and always took car of the car and never abused it.

All cars burn some oil, some more than others. You just need to add a quart every 3-4 fill ups then. Just make sure your car is not leaking oil.

That is a lot! My 2006 IS350 with 126k miles is burning about 3/4qt per 2,500 miles or so. You definitely need to have this check out.

Seeing the motor is an IS350, not a IS250, I'd be very concerned. First thing first, look for physical leaks. The timing cover can be a problem AND if you have other shops do your oil changes, double check that the drain plug is tight AND has a gasket in-between it and the oil pan. Next, pull the spark plugs (which is easy to do on the IS350), and inspect the plugs for oily residue. If there is, then oil is getting past the oil scraper rings on the pistons and is sort of being burnt up in the combustion chamber and the exhaust. Do you get any blue smoke out of the tail pipe upon start-up in the morning? If you do both of these things and still nothing, I'd sh it a brick. LOL!
