Default Oil Change from Dealership

I took my car to my local Lexus Dealership for inspection and for a oil change today. I'm curious of what brand of oil is everyone using. I got a receipt from the oil change with the codes

04152-YZZA5 - Oil Filter $6.00
002791QT5W01 - Genuine Toyota 5w30 Motor Oil $3.99/qt
9043012031P - Genuine Toyota - Oil Drain Plug Gaskets $0.80

Everything was total of 65.50 (Which is a big rip-off). BUT I'm curious I thought Lexus Dealership would use full synthetic oil?

I think my dealership only charges 50? Which is why I sometimes let them do it. Why would you think that? Your mistake was not asking, never assume.

M1 is having $12 rebate on 5 jug quarts. Walmart has the 5quart jugs for 21 during their rollback pricing. My friend at toyota tells me that Lexus uses Mobil 1 for their oil.

I just changed the oil on my is250 for < $20
6.5 quarts of m1 and a genuine toyota cartridge filter

Yes they use Mobil 1 (well, at least my local one does); but I'm sure it's not full syn. I change my own oil though, and it is about time for one in fact.

If your car is older it came with regular they will use that. Newer cars with 10k oil change interval get synth. Mobil one at my dealership. But they charge an arm and a leg for it so I bring in my own oil.

+1 on buying M1 from Walmart haha, plus you can buy the oil filter and gaskets from Sewell for like 7$ I believe total. I just ordered a whole years worth at a time to save shipping

I pay $50 for an oil change. Between the car wash and the loaner car, it's worth it for me.

You guys are lucky with those cheap oil changes! my local Lexus dealership charges $137 for an oil change!
And that is just using dino oil... syn costs about 30-40 more.

You pay extra for syn at the dealership

You can get your own syn oil (Walmart) and find a reliable mechanic to get it done....

I feel bad for you man, Canada just enter recession. I was up there a couple of days ago and our exchange rate ($1 USD = $1.33 CAD) hasn't been this high since 8 years ago.
