Help!!! Low oil pressure
Hi everyone i recently bought my second is250 a 2006 m/t with 75k miles.
Car was running great went to a friends house to correct a little liner and fender rub on my wheels.
Turned the car on to turn the wheels to have room to work and i hear a not so loud knocking (clack
clack clack) sound and i get the LOW OIL PRESSURE in the heads up display i quickly turned the car off.
The car was just turned on at idle in neutral and it wasnt on for more than 4-5secs before i turned it off almost instantly after getting the message.
There was no change in the rpms no roughness or anything like that just the engine sound and the message.
i searched for 1hr but didnt find anyone with this exact issue on a is250.
oil level is ok it seems little dirty, no smoke, no heat up, no leaks
I found a little oil wetness near the top passenger side of engine maybe bad valve cover gasket? could this be the cause of the low oil pressure and sound? or could it be a clogged oil catch screen? maybe bad oil pump?
Haven't turned the car on again and wont do so either im gonna call a flatbed and take it to my trusty lexus mechanic for inspection but would like input of anyone who might have a similar experience.

Having oil is GOOD and that's a relief. That sound is not good though.
Do not start the engine again. No oil pressure can be catastrophic. Could be numerous things, sending unit(sensor), oil pump ect. Glad you're having it towed, smart move. Keep us up to date.

Towed the car to the mechanic he turned the car on and the sound vanished.
He called the local lexus dealer because he knows friends that work there and they checked for any recalls. Cams recalls were done @ 40k'ish miles and only had available fuel pump recall and something about trunk button.
He is gonna do a full check-up and replace oil/filter, spark plugs, water pump, serpentine, tranny oil and diff oil and make sure everything is all right.
I will keep updating this thread hopefully it was just a dirty oil filter from cheap-o used car dealer replacing oil and not the filter what made the low oil pressure warning pop up for an instant.

i was on a slope (raised front) also the car had stalled from braking and not pressing the clutch (accident new to m/t was focused on not falling into hole/ditch with grass in the middle of the garage entrance) could this add to the technical glitch?
