Default OutCast Garage's Duckbill Carbon Fiber trunk is here and on my car!!!!!

Before mods close this thread, I'm just posting about how ecstatic I am about this product on my car. The vendor ModinJapan will be selling this item on this forums

The guys at Outcast Garage and I have been very close and I finally talked them into making a version of their awesome duckbill trunk, originally on the G35 coupe, for our 2nd gen IS. There will be 3rd gen and many other Lexus if there is enough interest plus this 2nd gen version sold well. All I can say is that the carbon weaves on this trunk is absolutely gorgeous. Some minor modifications like sanding down the cutouts for the reverse lights and cutting a hole for the reverse cam; other than that, this thing is as good as a non OEM carbon trunk gets. After seeing and hearing how terrible fitment of the original Ventross was, from original owners, and even 10x worst fitments and finishes on the replica ones; I can safely assure you guys that this required way less effort and looks amazing. Totally worth the investment.
I choose to use my stock white back piece on the trunk because I want to go with the Panda's theme, the full trunk comes with full two piece carbon or two piece fiberglass. This will give owners all kind of options to play around with.

how come they didn't keep the carbon fiber weave going in the same direction ? the top of the dec lid is going the opposite way

I'm not sure what do you mean my that. The flow of the weaves on the top start from the upper part from the driver side and to the passenger lower part, that's how I read that flow pattern. Then the back part of the trunk, it's like the carbon sheet wrapped down so the direction continued to flow from driver to passenger. At least that's how I assumed anyways, I'm always open to be more educated

I know they're just making them but for that price return it and get it done right
Other than that they did a beautiful job. Hopefully they used a good gel coat

We know you can't lay it in one piece but you can sure match the pattern so it flows better

Always happy to see quality parts , especially when they're carbon fibre
